My first term as a state representative has involved some personal success—being named a “Legislator of Distinction” by the League of Minnesota Cities, securing new laws and funding in the fight against sexual exploitation, and bringing new collaboration to early childhood advocacy.
Overall, however, this term has been frustrating. We’ve spent too much of our time debating damaging proposals from the House Republican majority—defunding Planned Parenthood, rolling back protections for labor and the environment, and more. In the meantime, our state is missing tremendous opportunities to move forward on transportation, education, and equity.
The lesson is clear: Progress for a better Minnesota requires a DFL majority in the House. This fall, I’m organizing in our district—reaching out to new Minnesotans and low-income residents—and throughout the state to turn out the vote and power that DFL majority. But I can’t do this work alone. Please consider contributing $500, $250, $100, $50, or any amount now. I’m grateful for your support.
State Representative, District 64B
P.S. Our team is working hard. In one week in late June alone, we hosted public forums on climate change (June 23) and on “prenatal to three” policy (June 27)—with much more to come. Please power all of this work with a contribution now. Thanks so much.
